Tips For Keto Turkey Burgers

Do not overcook your burgers. Naturally, you need to ensure they are done. The internal temperature of a turkey burger should be 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t overcook them because they can dry out.

Season. Is there a seasoning that you usually add to your taco meat? Use that instead, just as long as it’s keto-friendly and seasoned.

Need more protein? Increase the size of your burgers from 4 oz to 6 oz or whatever fits your daily macro goals.

Can I cook a turkey burger in the air fryer? Yes!

How long to cook a turkey burger? About 5 minutes total for a 4 oz burger over medium-high heat or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Storage for Taco Style Turkey Burgers

This keto-friendly turkey burger taco-style meal is super easy to store. All ingredients can be prepped ahead and packed in separate air-tight containers or even mason jars for most of the toppings. You can form turkey burger patties one to two days in advance. Form and place each patty in between parchment paper, and place in a zip-top storage bag or properly sized air-tight container.

Turkey Burger Variations

Use ground beef instead of turkey. This is an easy switch and could add a little more fat depending on what your daily macros are looking like, it may be a better option.

Add guac. Perhaps another way to Get Ya FatUp with this dish. Guacamole is delicious, nutritious, and can add extra fat to this quick and easy keto dish.

Add other toppings that you love. If you love cucumber as I do, add that on top for that extra crunch factor. Other options include cilantro, sliced radish, pickled jalapeno, or even a squeeze of lime to name a few. If you typically have it on a traditional taco and it’s keto-friendly, go for it!

What are some of your favorite taco toppings?
